I'm most comfortable in first position, and have a little experience with shifting I'm comfortable in all the neck positions, and have visited thumb position on occasion, but prefer not going above 4th position I'm familiar with 5th, 6th, and 7th positions, but thumb position is for other people I'm comfortable with thumb positions, if I have to... I've played all over the instrument, and I like a challenge Yo-Yo Ma - watch your back!
