Open to only 20 cellists ages 14 and up, Cello Day 2022 will take place on July 16 in Kenmore WA (just outside of Seattle) on the beautiful campus of Church of the Redeemer (with plenty of parking). The Venue
Cello Day 2022 takes place at Church of the Redeemer in Kenmore WA.
It is a beautiful sanctuary with gigantic ceiling heights -supported by ancient trees - that makes it an ideal resonant space to make sumptuous music. |
The Music
Cello Day 2022! features two main elements,
a Cello Orchestra and Cello Chamber Music. The Cello Orchestra will involve everyone playing together, in four sections, the music of Bach, Casals, Lauridsen, and others. Each section will also have a sectional with their coach, who will be playing in the orchestra with you. The Chamber Music will be one-on-a-part cello quartets, sextets, or octets (depending on enrollment). Each group will receive guidance from one of the coaches. Cello Day 2022! concludes with an informal concert from each Chamber Group and the Cello Orchestra. |
