Seattle Chamber Music Coaching Sessions is an opportunity geared for amateur adult chamber music enthusiasts. "SCMCS" is for preformed chamber music groups, new or established, where each ensemble receives a series of coachings over several months concluding with a public concert that celebrates each group's achievements.
The Coachings
Each ensemble receives a choice of either three or four 60-minute coachings spaced several weeks apart. The coachings are molded to the needs of each ensemble - string quartet, piano trio, or something that breaks the mold - with special attention to stylistic concepts and interpretive ideas. With years of experience as both performer and educator, professional cellist Nathan Whittaker serves as the primary coach and director of SCMCS. All participants are invited and encouraged to audit the coachings of the other groups for a well-rounded experience
